Archaeology Roadshow

Celebrate the rich heritage of the Pacific Northwest at the 3rd annual Archaeology Roadshow in The Dalles! This year's theme, The Archaeology of Art & Craft, explores the creativity and ingenuity of past cultures through exhibits and hands-on activities. 

Meet archaeologists and heritage specialists from local tribes, universities, federal and state agencies, nonprofits, and private organizations. Discover how people of the past expressed themselves through tools, textiles, adornments, and more, and how those traditions continue today. 

This family-friendly event invites visitors of all ages to explore Oregon's deep history and its ongoing significance. Learn about stewardship, cultural respect, and how to engage with archaeology responsibly. 

Have an artifact you're curious about? Bring these objects, such as stone tools, pottery, or animal bones, for expert insight. Specialists will help identify its age, function, and origin. No financial appraisals, please.
