“Finding Yourself in the Gorge”
Students ages 9 to 12 will study the natural environment of the gorge through the lens of cartography, biology, art, and ecology. What would it be like to be a member of the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery expedition? Students will learn hands-on wilderness survival skills like navigating with a compass, making maps, drawing sketches in field journals, building survival shelters, finding food and more. They will explore nature through creating works of earth art. Students will come away with a stronger sense of place, identity, and the role of being a steward of the environment. Snacks will be provided.
Director of Education Robbie Smith will lead kids on a summer outdoor adventure they will never forget at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum!
Cost for this 4-Day Summer Camp is $70 per child for museum members, ($85 per child for non-members.)
