- The Task -

You and your partner will work together to explore at least one of the medical challenges faced by Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery. You will examine these challenges from the point of view of Captain Meriwether Lewis, who served as the Corps’s primary physician, as well as from the point of view of the men who suffered from a particular illness or injury during the expedition.

Your task is to select one of the medical challenge options, research the symptoms, possible diagnoses and treatments based on medical knowledge of the time, and decide on a course of action. Finally, you will develop a presentation that illustrates the disease or injury, the possible treatments, and the results of the treatment you select.
