Description: Wilavis (far side, ahead) and Nerka (near side, behind) boat race. Butler's Eddy and Billy Butler's buildings across the river. The race was between Bonneville and a point abreast McGowan's cannery. Butler's Eddy is near Skamania Landing. The Wilavis won by one boat length.

Description: The sternwheeler Tahoma trapped in ice in the Columbia River. When it broke loose it crushed the Reed Tunnel Point wheel in the vicinity of Rooster Rock, near the Corbett area.
